How bad can someone feel? Always could be worse. How can someone get better? Thinking things are going to be alright.
But what happens if things get even worse than before? What should we do? Is optimism an answer?
Only in some cases. People always try to see the good side, because that's what we want to hear and it give us a short term happyness, a little refugee, a breath. That happens because our emotions are active. They are who lead our path, who make our decisions in order to reach what we consider feeling good, but don't forget this is only an illusion, we are creating an imaginary world governed by our unsatisfied minds. How far can you escape from reality? We don't live in that world, we live here.
The real world is our worst enemy and at same time, our best friend. He's an indecesive guy, sometimes he lets you reach the top of the mountain, but he could easily push you down in a second. That's why emotions aren't very reliable. Life teaches you to be realist and see the empty half glass, because it's our logic, our essence. It's not easy to be cold at the hour of making choices, but usually it's a long term solution. Despite of this, we are not robots. We have feelings, living in a hollow world wouldn't be nice. The purpose of human being is to love, to grow, to suffer, to mature, to enjoy the world through our senses.
So what's the point? Realism and optimism must been properly equilibrated, we don't want to live a lie but we also don't want to be lifeless objects. Balance is the welfare key.
